Volunteers John and Dorothy MacMillen have a lengthy history with Capital City Rescue Mission. In fact, one of their first dates, in 1967, was to the Mission's Annual Banquet held at an area church.
The MacMillens started volunteering with their church when the Mission was located at 50 Hudson Ave in Albany. They currently assist with our quarterly newsletter mailings as well as office mailings and are often available at a moment's notice.
They have enjoyed coming back year after year and believe that volunteering is a worthwhile endeavor as they see how the Mission has grown so steadily. They also rejoice with men, women, and children who reside at the Mission as they grow in Christ.
Dorothy says, "It is nice to know that, however small it may be, we play a part in it all."
